About Us

After attaining a rather large dog to take care of, I noticed that every time I took him for a walk he would naturally want to walk at a faster pace than what I was use to. Needless to say his "walk" was more of a brisk jog for me. So I started doing some research into PEV's that didn't require the use of a remote, or have the need to hold onto handle bars or something as it was already a challenging task and took considerable strength just to corral this majestic canine enough for a simple walk. He listened, but his power needed some fine tuning. This was about the time I came across the FM OW+ XR. After reading about its range, durability, charge time, operating dynamics, remoteless operation and terrain conquering capabilities I was sure i had come across the most desirable outcome for my needs at the time. Little did I know that this decision would lead me down a path that I never even imagined was a possibility for someone like me.

  Shortly after I received my XR, I was so excited about the XR that I called three of my friends over to check it out. I let them all try it out and play on it for a few hours and all of them thought the device was top tier and really really cool. I mean lets be real here, the Electronic Balance Board is the closest we are ever going to get in our life time to a "works as advertised" hover board from the movie "Back to the Future". After they had gone home i rode that board until the battery reached 1% and charged it up for the night. A few months later my buddy Chris had purchased the same XR that I did. Even the firmware and hardware was the same. We then started our riding sessions around White Rock Lake in Dallas Texas and that became our go to for the stress relief needed from our daily lives. Our fondness for the OW XR only increased once we became part of the OW Community. We started going to group rides and making friends and acquaintances who shared in the same love for the sport and device as we do. It was through them that our fondness and passion became fueled and burned with the desire to contribute something to benefit the community.

After obtaining the opportunity to work at a battery company, I was taught and  learned about how batteries operate and function all while building extended range batteries for the XR. When the company sadly closed it's doors, Chris and I decided that the best way we could contribute to the community would be by making the highest quality battery's possible and give it a wyrd twist. After brain storming and countless hours of R&D we came up with Wyrd Concepts and decided to give it a go. It was at this moment in our lives that we had done a job that we both enjoyed doing. The phrase," When you do something you love, you'll never work a day in your life." is now not just a phrase we would hear, but something we can actually know, feel, and appreciate.
